Report on condition of discs and brake drums

Many people who service their vehicles are wary of the standard practice to replace brake pads at every major service. Often the technician will also insist on replacing the brake discs, which they insist have become worn or even warped. These technicians will also bill the customer for work done or replacement parts fitted to brake drums, which are fitted to the rear wheels of some smaller vehicles and bakkies.

At Steves Auto Clinic we believe it is very important to inspect the working condition of both brake discs and brake drums, but this will always be done in a responsible manner and in consultation with the owner of the vehicle.

Is often possible to merely inspect the front brake discs (and rear where applicable) and inspect the brake drums and repair them when necessary.

The team at Steves Auto Clinic will be able to report on the condition of the brake discs and brake drums at every major car service and a customer is welcome to request an inspection of these components at any service.
