Toyota Hilux 2.7i Power Conversions | Performance Cylinder Head upgrades PRESS RELEASE

SAC Toyota Hilux 2.7i 4x2 Double cab
SAC Engineering in conjunction with SAC Dart Mechanics Nelspruit have been experimenting with the Toyota Hilux 2,7i and a Big Valve Cylinder Head Conversion and the results are very good.
The Hilux 2,7i is probably the must popular petrol bakkie conversion within the SAC Group and up until now it has only been offered as a standard gasflow job which takes the power from +/- 75kw to +/-90kw on the wheels but now with the Big Valve Cylinder Head Conversion upgrades, the power goes to +/- 100kw and sometimes as high at +/- 110kw on the wheels.
There are also future developments on the cards along the lines of an SAC replacement hi flow airbox, which will assist in extracting even more power out of the Hilux 2,7i.
TEST INFORMATION 
SAC have just finished with the road test (Independently done by Adrian Burford of Roadworks CC at Gerotek) of our SAC Hilux 2,7i and have attached the raw performance data.

When analysing the results a few points need to be kept in mind:
  • The conversion is a reliable upgrade and not a race car package.
  • The improved driveability over the standard car cannot be measured by raw data .
  • The car was independently tested at Gerotek which is 1500m above sea level with a full tank of fuel on board.
  • The vehicle weighs in excess of 1,5 tonne and comes equipped with power robbing extras such as power steering and aircon.

The cylinder head conversion from SAC can be completed in 5 working days.
