SAC Engineering in conjunction with Steves Auto Clinic Vanderbijlpark have been experimenting with the VW Citi Golf 1,4i and have produced some very impressive results with the vehicle. The norm over the past few years at SAC has been to offer 2,0 power engine upgrades on the 1,4 / 1,6 / 1,8 VW models. This has been very successful in the form of the Polotec and obviously is still available as an option for the customer but we would like to promote reliable cost effective 1,4i Only Power Conversions. | | TEST INFORMATION | We have just finished with the road test of our SAC Citi Golf 1,4i-s and have attached the raw data. | When analysing the results a few points need to be kept in mind: | - The conversion is a reliable street car upgrade and not a race car package.
- The improved driveability over the standard car cannot be measured by raw data.
- The car was independently tested at Gerotek which is 1500m above sea level with a full tank of fuel on board.
- A Mk1 Golf will always be hindered by poor aerodynamics by today's standards.
- Most importantly it is still only a 1400 8v.
